Membership of the IWFCIM provides unrivalled networking, business opportunities and participation in working together to make a difference in the communities we serve.

Our key focus areas are social responsibility, entrepreneurs and business professionals and support system for entrepreneurs.

We anchor our support for the entrepreneurs and business professionals in two key areas:

Business growth:
We provide valuable information and access through event programs and speaker events, while keeping abreast of current issues, including trade exchange opportunities with other IWFCI global chapter networks.

Personal and Professional Development:
We provide comprehensive programs on personal and professional development of our members covering classroom and online training and monthly dialogues among entrepreneurs.

We anchor our social responsibility efforts in the following:

Sustainable Development Goal #1 in eradicating poverty

We have worked with the B40 communities in Malaysia helping them to improve their livelihood and upgrade their skills in basic entrepreneurship. Our beneficiaries are 60 women tailors and as of March 8th, 2021, we launched the first social enterprise platform for tailoring services in Malaysia, benangdotorg, with the support from Yayasan Hasanah. We conduct comprehensive programs for our beneficiaries providing them with the platform to trade, training them in basic entrepreneurship skills and sourcing contracts for them offline as well. This is our long-term initiative for the B40 communities in Malaysia.

Sustainable Development Goal #5 in empowering women and gender equality

Our efforts in empowering women and gender equality apply to all walks of life – the B40 communities as well as entrepreneurs and business professionals. We advocate friendly procurement and trade policies towards women entrepreneurs – a long term effort that we are working on with central agencies and policymakers.

Promoting a healthy lifestyle for sustainable wellbeing

We are a firm believer that good health and wellbeing is a lifestyle. It is a necessity, not a luxury. Key initiatives within this space include Special Interest Groups (SIGs) on eating right, love for animals, food and nutrition, health and wellness activities and safety. Interested members can form and lead an SIG.

In summary, to meet the challenges of a changing world IWFCIM uses its ability to influence friendly and constructive policy directions towards women entrepreneurs, provide high-level training and networking opportunities within the areas of personal development, trade, business, government and finance; to assist member’s confidence, connections and business opportunities that will benefit them.
