Objective and Effective Problem Solving

INTRODUCTION

This problem-solving workshop prepares and enables participants to analyse risks and issues into the four problem types of: Processes, Decisions, Relationships and Motivation and create solutions for each type.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After attending this workshop, learners will be able to do the following:

  • Analyse problems into Processes, Decisions, Relationships & Motivation
  • Create solutions that are relevant to the problems identified
  • Make weighted decisions and choose the most rational solution
  • Manage relationship issues and personality conflicts at home and at work

COURSE OUTLINE (1 Day)

 

Module Title Learning Outcomes & Tools Used
1 Analysing Problems Participants will be able to use analytical and critical thinking tools to identify whether a problem is a risk or issue and deconstruct it into its individual problem types.

 

Tools: PDRM: Process, Decision, Relationship, Motivation

2 Creating Solutions Participants will be able to use creative and lateral thinking tools to create possible solutions to individual problem types.

 

Tools: SCAMPER, BrainStorming, Rapid Prototyping

3 Building Relationships Participants will be able to connect to build rapport, inform to introduce ideas, convince to get buy-in and instruct to provide directions to

improve the communication in their relationships.

 

Tools: REACH.

4 Making Decisions Participants will be able to critically analyse options without emotional noise and justify a choice based on weighted analysis.

COURSE FACILITATOR

Gina Phan is a professional trainer & consultant. Her work today reflects her experience as a seasoned practitioner. Her passion is to help organizations and individuals succeed through effective and practical soft-skills.

Gina is an accomplished manager and company director, in both corporate and entrepreneurial settings. Prior to becoming a company director, she has held many roles in software development, corporate marketing, sales, and pre-sales support.
